Windows 10 and FT4Web

First impressions back in June still apply a few Windows 10 machines will have problems with the Family Tab as discussed

6/30/15 We have installed a prerelease of Windows 10 provided by Microsoft to developers.

All of FT4Web works fine on the 64-bit Windows 10 that we installed as a virtual machine on our Windows 2008 R2 Server. There is a 32-bit Windows 10 that we have not yet tested.

We have NOT attempted to upgrade a real machine to Window10 or to use Windows 10 for other purposes. Our initial impression is that Windows 10 is friendly enough combining the features of Widows 7 and 8 in a more seamless fashion that did Windows 8. However, once again, MS has messed with the location of features and the organization of networking and security. There will be a learning curve.

Upgrading Windows 10 to it's highest level does not cause the FT4Web Famly Tab problem which is currently plaguing some Windows 8.1 users. We continue to suggest that you NOT install Office 2010 (obsolete) as it may introduce the same problems under Windows 10, that Windows 8.1 users are experiencing.
